A debate: “Resolved: That celebrity journalism is inherently irresponsible.”
Arguing for the negative: Michael Barnes, editor of the Life & Arts section of the Austin American-Statesman and professor of “Critiquing the Arts” at St. Edward’s University. Arguing for the affirmative: Michele Kay, professor of journalism, recent founder of the journalism minor, and adviser of Hilltop Views, the student newspaper at St. Edward’s University. Both debaters are veteran journalists and experts in their field.
A reading: by Matthew Bey, concerning scary monkeys, clown faces, and the like. Matthew is a featured writer in the Cryptopolis anthology, “Tales From the Secret City,” as well as co-editor of Space Squid, Austin’s worst sci-fi humor zine.
